Applications

Four asset categories. One platform.

The same platform recovers lithium across four distinct asset types. Each has different economics, different concentrations, different operating conditions. Membrane Lithium Extraction (M.L.E.) adapts to all of them.

Where the platform deploys

Four categories of lithium assets.

Salar Brine

~2,000 ppm Li

More lithium from the reserve you already control.

For operators and prospecting permit holders working salars in the Lithium Triangle, North America, and Australia. Large-scale operations and earlier-stage developers.

What M.L.E. does here:

  • Approximately 39 percent OpEx reduction per cubic meter of feed
  • Over 19 percent capacity uplift on the same brine volume
  • De-lithiated effluent suitable for aquifer re-injection, supporting sustainable brine management
  • No disruption to existing precipitation lines

Deployment: Separation as a service, priced per cubic meter. Modular skids on site.

Hard Rock Refinery Wastewater

>30,000 ppm Li in wastewater

The 20 percent you are currently throwing away.

For spodumene refiners in Australia and beyond. Talison, Covalent, Pilbara, Core Lithium and peers. Industry-wide, only about 4 percent of the lithium present in refinery wastewater is currently captured.

What M.L.E. does here:

  • Convert a waste stream into a revenue stream without changing upstream operations
  • Reduce environmental liability on tailings discharge
  • Improve total lithium recovery per ton of ore processed

Deployment: Bolt-on membrane skid integrated with existing wastewater handling.

Oil & Gas Produced Water

100 to 500 ppm Li

A new revenue stream from water you already manage.

For oil and gas operators in the US Gulf states and beyond. Produced water is currently a disposal cost. The lithium in it has never been a revenue line. M.L.E. changes that.

What M.L.E. does here:

  • Add a revenue stream to existing energy operations
  • Process at the wellhead, eliminating disposal logistics
  • Validate lithium reserves on assets you already control
  • No interruption to hydrocarbon production

Deployment: Modular skid integration with existing produced water handling.

Geothermal & Groundwater

20 to 500 ppm Li

The only extraction method that returns water at 60 degrees Celsius.

For geothermal energy operators and holders of low-concentration groundwater assets. Vulcan Energy, Cornish Lithium, Fervo, Ormat, and earlier-stage developers in the EU and US.

Why conventional Direct Lithium Extraction (D.L.E.) does not work here:

  • Geothermal plants must return water to the reservoir at high temperature, typically 60 degrees Celsius. Conventional D.L.E. operates below 40.
  • Low-concentration assets (under 200 ppm) fall outside the operating window of conventional D.L.E.

What M.L.E. does here:

  • Operates at temperatures up to 70 to 80 degrees Celsius, compatible with geothermal return requirements
  • Recovers lithium economically at concentrations down to 20 ppm when throughput is high
  • Adds a revenue stream to energy operations or unlocks previously uneconomic groundwater assets

Reference project: Golan, Israel. 20 ppm groundwater. Meaningful lithium recovery from high-throughput operation.
Deployment: Modular skid integration with existing brine or water handling infrastructure.

D.C.M. Applications

Direct Cathode Manufacture is our step-change innovation. It converts purified lithium directly into battery-ready cathode powder on site, with no intermediate salts, no refinery, and no cathode chemistry lock-in. It multiplies the value of every lithium atom recovered.

D.C.M. pairs with M.L.E. for a complete brine-to-battery platform, but it stands on its own. It bolts onto any purified lithium stream, so operators who already extract lithium can vertically integrate without rebuilding upstream. Certified cathode sells at roughly $655k per ton equivalent, against about $28k for raw Li₂CO₃.

Where D.C.M. deploys, independent of M.L.E.

Existing DLE & brine operators

Already producing purified lithium with your own DLE or evaporation process? D.C.M. plugs into that stream and turns carbonate-grade output into battery-ready cathode, capturing the refining margin in-house.

Hard-rock & spodumene refiners

Refiners producing lithium hydroxide or carbonate can add a cathode line on site, moving up the value chain instead of shipping salts to a downstream cathode maker.

Carbonate & hydroxide producers

Producers selling into a compressed refining market can convert that same output into a certified cathode product and sell directly to cell manufacturers worldwide.

OEMs & battery manufacturers

OEMs committed to domestic battery supply can secure cathode-grade output close to home, without building or contracting a centralized refinery.

What D.C.M. delivers

Chemistry agnostic

NMC, LFP, LMFP, NCA, and emerging chemistries. The client or open market dictates the cathode spec.

Vertical integration

Go from lithium to battery-ready cathode on site, capturing value that conventional chains spread across many intermediaries.

Open market access

Certified cathode material sells directly to battery manufacturers worldwide, no centralized refiner required.
